About Me:
I am a Queer-identified therapist with over 20 years of experience working with diverse LGBTQ+ identified individuals. I am a seasoned clinician and administrator, and I am happiest when I can utilize both aspects of my training. My background is in LGBTQ+ community mental health, where I have served as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and Outpatient Clinic Director.

Telepsychotherapy
My style is warm, active, and authentic. Starting therapy is hard, so my priority is for you to feel relaxed, understood, and comfortable in early sessions. I welcome laughter and questions in therapy. With a background in LGBTQ+ public health, I am sensitive to the challenges and stressors that come with living outside cisgender/hetero norms.
I tend to be a good fit for people looking to address core negative beliefs, or taking a big step in life - like starting social/physical transition or becoming an LGBTQ+ parent. I frequently use EMDR (an evidenced-based treatment) to help clients feeling "stuck," anxious, or looking to resolve trauma or painful relationship patterns. In addition, I incorporate the following approaches in my work:
-
Psycho-dynamic
-
Cognitive-Behavioral
-
Motivational Interviewing & Harm Reduction
-
Subjugated Knowledge - valuing the wisdom and skills we possess from not fitting into the dominant culture
I am an Out of Network provider with the "R" priviliege.
